The Story of Edgar Sawtelle: A Novel

Also known as Oprah's #62nd pick (that's not the reason we picked it) (62 picks!!).

The book was picked by Lora and will be hosted by Jerri at Las Tapas located in Old Towne Alexandria.

Welcome to web 2.0. If our kids can do it so can we!

Some of the best conversations about a book happen while you are reading! Sometimes by the time we get to book club our opinions have dwindled down to a "it was OK". I hope we can use this blog to discuss things like, "WTF are the dogs doing with the syringes" or ***SPOILER*** "Did Edgar just KILL THE DOCTOR??"

So readers fess up, where are you, what do you think, lets get this conversation started.

This blog is your blog, post, delete, whatever whenever.

Really this is just an example of a comment. But since you are here, make sure you scroll down and answer the survey.

There's no survey? And, I've never even heard of that book? What about threads for all the different books we're all reading? Maybe that's no fun. I am currently 1/2 through Hillary Clinton's Living History and I just started The Overachievers by Alexandra Robbins. Both are proving insightful and great reads.

I found the survey and voted 3 times!

Voter fraud!
I think talking about other books here is a great idea. Esp. because there has been resounding silence from those actually reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, which i really liked btw.

Is the Overachievers fiction? sounds interesting.

I read Hilary's Living History awhile back. I remember thinking that she really loves/admires Bill, but I also remember thinking that politicans should not write memoirs until they are out of office. She is so guarded (with good reason).

A good book I read recently (after tearing through the whole Twilight series, which I am guessing may not be your thing. I <3 Vampires. lol) Out Stealing Horses. Nice well written read.

Thanks for starting this. I am about 350 pages in. Edgar has fleed and is in the woods with three yearlings. I'll be curious to see whether his uncle did indeed kill his father,or whether Edgar emotions are being fueled by teen hormones.

Oh yea, right where you are it takes in interesting twist with the new character introduction, who, I think, is completely different from any other character in the book. I would have liked to understand his mom a little better...

Yes. The mom seems very co-dependent, the way she took up with her brother-in-law so fast!
